The USGA and Justin Thomas trade shots, Mitchell's money finish and Tiger gets credit for LPGA victory: What you missed this weekend

The 27-year-old, who began the week 218th out of 221 players in strokes gained/putting, converted a 16-footer on PGA National's 18th hole to win the Honda Classic by one over superstars Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler. "It was awesome," Mitchell said. Koepka—who admitted earlier in the week he was in such a bad place mentally at the 2017 Honda he nearly walked away from the tournament—made things interesting with birdies at the 16th and 18th holes, while Fowler played the final four holes i...

Going on Six Months

Oh, that girl and her funny faces. When I was pregnant French Husband asked me if I could not make funny faces as he did not want our children to make them... I laughed, "Really you think I can just stop?" and added, "Too late now." Chelsea makes faces and French Husband has gotten over it.  Going on six months. My only regret is that I do not lie closer to see Chelsea more often.   xxxxx            Related Stories Nearly Five MonthsA Boy or a GirlThe Baby to Be  [Author: French la Vie]

For Angels’ Kaleb Cowart and Jared Walsh, pitching and hitting is just like old times

TEMPE, Ariz. – The first time Jared Walsh became teammates with Kaleb Cowart, they were teenagers playing for the same club team in suburban Atlanta. By age 14, Walsh said, Cowart was already throwing baseballs 92 mph. “I always thought he was a great hitter,” Walsh said of Cowart, “but not many people could throw a baseball 92 at 14, let alone 25.” The second time Walsh and Cowart became teammates was a year ago. Walsh was still hitting, playing the field, and occasionally pitching for the Trip...

Graham Harrell tasked with reviving USC offense with some ‘Air Raid’ flair

The North Texas football team had lost 11 times in 12 tries in 2015, marred by a futile offense that had trouble scoring points. The only school the Mean Green beat just recently started a football program. The following January, returning members of the shabby squad assembled in a meeting room to greet an LDN-L-USC HARRELL-0304overhauled coaching staff. A clean-shaven 30-year-old, who might’ve otherwise been mistaken for a new graduate transfer, entered. Graham Harrell wasn’t far removed from h...

Clippers-Lakers game Monday comes with motivation aplenty

LOS ANGELES — Former Laker Ivica Zubac expects full well that his former teammates will be motivated when they meet his new team Monday — it’s crunchtime in the playoff race and the seventh-place Clippers lead the 10th-place Lakers in the Western Conference standings. After being part of the first trade between the franchises since 1983, when the teams exchanged packages that brought Norm Nixon to the (then-San Diego) Clippers and sent Byron Scott to the Lakers, Zubac said he’ll be ready to go, ...

With 41 seconds left in the third quarter Lou Williams scored the 100th and 101st points, and Hall of Fame-bound broadcaster Ralph Lawler enforced The Law, which means that any team wins when it gets to 100 first. There once was a time when the NBA Finals ...

03032019 – Bike and Ski

This morning I spent an hour on the trainer in the basement as the temps were like -12 with nasty windchill. While cold, the day was quite sunny.  Even though the temps were hovering around the cancellation mark we had our last ski lessons today. Quite a few kids were out and we had a great ski. We ended up with about 3.6k of skiing as a group. After we finished I hit the trails for a quick loop and did about the same distance  with the harder hills!  Despite the wind it was a nice day to be out...
