Action Barr, Robert: Young Lord Stranleigh (1908), v1

Some very sharp City of London operators think that rich Lord Stranleigh, a Bertie Woosterish West End fashion plate, is an easy mark to make some money. There is a potential gold mine in Africa, for example; a dilapidated but workable cargo steamer The Rajah, to haul the gold ore back to England. What more is needed? An entertaining yarn of dealing, double dealing and even triple dealing, and young Lord Stranleigh is by no means as big a mug as he looks. ...

Question about managing tags

So I finally got around to setting up (some) of the tag manipulation rules when adding books. I have a ton of old tags that seem to keep showing up when I move books around in libraries and just using the tag manager doesn't seem to work. The rules I am working with right now are just removing the tags. Best first step I can think of since there are so many changes that need to be made. My question is, when are the rules applied? Does the book have to be imported through "add book" or can it...

Erratic response times

Anyone else experiencing this Sometimes I get timeouts, other times site not found, and other times I'll get a response - eventually. If I try again its usually back to normal. Can happen when I click a thread, submit a post, use something like Mark forum read, and its not limited to any particular MR forum. Erratic is the 'key word'. Been happening for several days, and it's not happening on other sites. Sod's Law say it will stop happening now. BR

First doll of the year

I am doing a big clean-up in my studio and also trying to get some pieces moving along. Where I get tired of one activity, I switch over to the other. So, both are going slowly. Studio cleaning and rearranging is a big chore but I always find forgotten treasures and that makes it SO worth it. Anyway, HeH! I got one finished! He is a mustache man. So many skeletons. I love finding the perfect antique button. And yes, Christmas is over. Both the tree and my man are out on the porch.

The new light switch isn’t a dimmer (there’s already a WeMo Dimmer available that also has HomeKit support built in), but rather a simple on/off switch. It will come in either a single-pole version for $40 (which means that there’s only one switch controlling a light fixture), or you can get it i...

Hello I’m looking forward to buy me a new e-ink reader with android. Long times ago, I’ve used an Onyx Boox M96, which unfortunately broke after half a year (screen cracked). Since then I’m using Windows tablets with an active stylus to annotate PDFs (I’m using more or less only the text highlight function). On windows 10, there is an app called Drawboard PDF. A distinct feature of this app, which I don’t want to miss anymore, is continuous highlighting, you can choose something like a highl...
